Zbiorowa pamięć wynikająca ze znajomości własnej historii, również tej tragicznej, jest niezwykle ważnym elementem poczucia wspólnoty narodowej. Utworzony w ramach CPA oraz PACT zespół roboczy opracował plan Lekcji o Katyniu w formie konspektu dla nauczycieli oraz prezentacji w PowerPoint. Temat Katynia, i w ogólności martyrologii Polaków w XX wieku, był tematem raczej zaniedbanym w procesie edukacji młodzieży w Polonii świata.
Celem tej lekcji jest przekazanie młodzieży polonijnej następującej wiedzy:
- Ludobójczy charakter Operacji Polskiej, przeprowadzonej przez Rosjan w latach 1937-38
- Antypolski pakt niemiecko-sowiecki i atak na Polskę we wrześniu 1939 r.
- Polska jako jedyny kraj zaatakowany ze wszystkich stron jak również przez „piątą kolumnę”
- Eksterminacja narodu polskiego przez Niemców i Rosjan
- Katyń jako szczególny przykład kontynuacji sowieckiego ludobójstwa na Polakach
- Czystka etniczna: wywiezienie ok. 1-2 mln. Polaków na Syberię
- Ukrywanie i fałszowanie prawdy o sowieckich zbrodniach na narodzie polskim.
Zwracamy uwagę, że materiały te zostały przygotowane z myślą o specyfice nauczania młodzieży w szkołach polskich poza granicami kraju, przede wszystkim licząc się z ograniczeniam czasowymi i odmienną percepcją spraw polskich.

For a number of reasons, the history of Poland, especially the period of World War II, is often incomplete and distorted in US media, entertainment, politics and even schools. Our duty is to learn the truth about these horrific events.
A working team established under CPA and PACT developed a lesson plan on Katyn in the form of an outline for teachers and a PowerPoint presentation. The subject of Katyn, and the martyrdom of Poles in the 20th century in general, has been rather neglected in the process of educating young people in the world’s Polish communities.
The purpose of this lesson is to provide Polish youth with the following knowledge:
- The genocidal nature of the „Polish Operation”, which the Soviets carried out in 1937-1938
- The anti-Polish Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact between the Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia, and its secret addendum
- Poland, the only country in the 2nd World War invaded from all directions in September, 1939
- Extermination of the Polish people by Germany and Russia
- The Katyń Massacre, a specific case of the continuing Soviet genocide of Poles
- Soviet ethnic cleansing: deportation of about 1-2 millions of Poles to Siberia
- Hiding and falsifying the truth about the Soviet crimes against the Polish people
Please note that these materials have been prepared with the specificity of teaching young people in Polish schools outside of Poland in mind, considering the time constraints and their different perception of Polish issues.
